The apps
An app is how you use a Tern node: it talks to the node over Bluetooth or USB, and the node does the radio. Every one of them needs a node with Tern's firmware, which you canput on a Heltec V3 from a browser.
Android
Android 8 or later.
Chats with contacts and groups, adding a contact by its QR code or link, sharing your position on a map with the people you choose, the node's battery and settings, and updates to its firmware over Bluetooth. A node's link opens in the app.
From the app's latest release on GitHub. Open the file on the phone; Android asks first to be allowed to install apps from your browser. The APK is signed with the project's release key, so a newer one installs over an older one. Source and issues:ternmesh/android.
iPhone, iPad and Mac
iOS 16 or later, macOS 13 or later.
One app for all three: chats with contacts and groups, adding a contact by its QR code on iPhone and iPad or its link anywhere, sharing your position on a map, the node's battery and settings, and updates to its firmware over Bluetooth.
It is a beta, through Apple's TestFlight: install Apple's TestFlight app first, then open the link on the iPhone, iPad or Mac. Source and issues: ternmesh/apple.
In the browser
Chrome or Edge, on a computer or an Android phone.
Chats with contacts and groups, who is about, sharing your position with the people you choose while the page is open, and updates to the node's firmware, through a node plugged into the computer over USB or one in Bluetooth's reach. Nothing to install, and nothing runs on a server. Safari and Firefox cannot reach a node yet.
What the apps send anywhere but to your node is on the privacy page.
